Tips to Help Boost Sign-Ups for Your Device Complete Club

Tips to Help Boost Sign-Ups for Your Device Complete Club illustration

A Device Complete Club is a new program offered by K-12 Tech to help districts offset repair costs by giving families the option to directly opt-in for care. This club provides valuable benefits for both schools and families. Districts can save on repairs, while families enjoy perks like unlimited repairs, fast turnaround times, discounts, and more.

Everyone is busy, and things can get missed. That’s exactly why it often takes several reminders before someone takes action. If you’re launching a Device Complete Club in your district, repetition isn’t overkill – it’s essential.

Here are our top tips to help increase sign-ups and make your club a success:

Highlight the Value:

Start by clearly explaining what families gain by enrolling:

  • With just a one time payment, their student’s device will be cared for all year with no extra paperwork or surprise bills.
  • It’s significantly more affordable than paying out-of-pocket for repairs.
    • For example: The annual membership is $50, while the average Chromebook repair is $270.

When families really understand the cost savings and convenience, they’re much more likely to join.

Send an email to all families with your Rocket sign-up link. K-12 Tech can provide a customizable email template to make this easy.

Be sure to include:

  • What the Device Complete Club is
  • What benefits are included (unlimited repairs, 20% accessory discount, etc.)
  • The enrollment window and cost
  • A direct link to learn more and register.

Flyers remain a powerful tool for reaching families offline. K-12 Tech will create a custom flyer with your school branding and a QR code that links directly to your registration page.

You can hand out these flyers during:

  • Student registration or orientation events
  • Chromebook handouts or device pickup
  • Open houses or back-to-school nights
  • Alongside class syllabuses or other forms sent home
  • Placed inside laptops on the first day of school to take home to parents

Make sure to pass these out when parents are already focused on back-to-school tasks and thinking about their student’s devices

social post illustration Post on Social or School Platforms:

Don’t overlook the power of quick reminders on platforms your families already engage with tips:

  • Add a short blurb with the sign-up link to your school’s homepage, newsletter, parent portal (Skyward, PowerSchool, etc.), or tech help page.
  • Share reminders on your school’s Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter/X account
    • Use a message like: “Avoid costly Chromebook repairs—sign up for our Device Complete Club by 2025!”
  • Pin the post or highlight it in your stories for visibility.

Give Verbal Reminders:

Don’t forget real-time opportunities to remind families:

  • Mention the program at back-to-school events, tech nights, or PTA meetings.
  • Ask teachers and tech staff to remind students to pass the info along at home.
  • Make announcements over the intercom during class time
  • Ask teachers or tech staff to remind students to tell their families about it

These direct, personal touches often help nudge families who may have missed the email or flyer.
